The New Mom Glow Kit

After Wilder was born, I shifted heavily towards face products that were moisturizing and easy. With a newborn around, I bid a quick farewell to my days of face masks and a wannabe 10 step skincare routine. I kept everything pretty minimal but I have to admit my skin has never been better! Plus, these products help me feel a little less “aging mom” and bit more “cool mom”– no matter the age, lack of sleep will get to your face!

Here’s a set of tried and true new mom approved glow products:

My bare face with Fresh Rose Moisturizer about to give me life!

1. Fresh Rose Moisturizer

Before I apply my base I start with this moisturizer. It’s perfect for this time of year; a touch heavier with triple the moisture. Perfect for moms who are fighting sleep deprivation and barely finding time to wash their faces. This moisturizer layers beautifully under makeup and keeps your face looking supple. Just like your new wonder’s chubby cheeks! #twinning

2. Clarins Lotus Oil

If you’re looking to minimize your skincare routine, this is it. After washing my face, I massage a few of these liquid gold drops in and wake up the next day completely hydrated. I can immediately tell when I forgot to put it on. The oil is quickly absorbed and retains moisture all night long. I nearly fainted from grief when I spilled some of my bottle… that’s how much I cherish it! I’ve been using it daily (besides when mom brain gets the best of me) since November and I’m ready to tattoo an ode to this bottle. Only half kidding.

Base + Primer

3. Becca Backlight Primer

Foundation and base are one of those things that no one can seem to agree upon. You really just need to find the shade and products that work for you. I’ve tried so many different ones and still I’m on the fence. However, this primer is one that I’m sure every face can agree with. It provides a subtle yet dewy glow that compliments any foundation or tinted moisturizer. Personally, I use a small squeeze with my tinted moisturizer on a daily basis. My best kept secret (not anymore!) for flawless glowy skin!

The normal new mom war paint

4. YSL Touché Eclat

To be fair, this product can be a highlight and concealer. Still, it’s on the pricey side. With that said, this is illuminating concealer hides your fine lines and dark circles without the cake. Don’t get me wrong- I love cake but not for your delicately aging eyes. I use it with another concealer cause my circles are boldly genetic and professionally dark. Go for this product if you need extra brightness underneath and want to confuse all the other moms with your glowing under eyes. You’re welcome.

5. Benefit Dandelion Blush

Blush has a way of breathing life into that no other make up product can do! I never accept my face until I see it with blush on. This is an oldie but goodie that I wear everyday. It gives my light to medium complexion the perfect innocent glow. Anything that keeps me looking youthful and young deserves a extra swipe or two. It’s nearly impossible to go over board since it’s on the subtle side. This blush captures the whole lit-from-within vibe– exactly what every mom needs in their makeup/diaper bag.

Voilà!

Since welcoming motherhood, a little splurge for your daily face products is one I support. We simply don’t have time to mess around with things that you don’t love to put on or aren’t effortless. I linked travel/trial size versions of most of the products– I recommend to start small to test before committing to the real deal! Try the products above and bring out your inner glow. Whatever dampens your glow this week– whether it’s teething or sleep training– take this as your reminder to take a minute for you! Newbie or not, you deserve to glow mama!
